Sucker!!

I am the biggest sucker in the whole world. So this kid comes to the door selling magazines to earn money for some great and wonderful cause that I can't even remember. And of course, because I'm a ginormous sucker, I bought one. But I'm having him send it to the troops in Iraq - so it's a worthy purchase. After I've committed myself to sending my charitable magazine, he gives me the total and it's $59 with all the crazy surcharges and "handling fees". But this kid is really really nice, and he's working his butt off selling magazines door-to-door (and who really wants to do that?) so I don't say anything and I write the dang check. Then he leaves with my money and information, never to be seen again. So I'm having some serious buyers remorse, but I'm trying to tell myself that it's helping this nice kid, Brian Boyd, and the troops, so it's going to be ok. Then on my receipt I notice a return policy! I can cancel and get my money back if I send in this thing within 3 business days. Amen! So I fill it out and it's sitting on my desk ready to go out in tomorrow's mail. But now I feel like such a jerk. This Brian kid is going to lose his points that he thought he got from me and I feel really bad. So I make Taylor go out and look for him around the block to see if he's still around. Cause I went to the company's website, and for every 20,000 points they earn $1,000. So I'm thinking he earned about $7 from me. I just wanted to give the kid the $7!! I could feel good about that. And then I could send the troops a $20 magazine subscription and still have $31. I could feed some a whole bunch of homeless people with $31. But I couldn't find Brian. And I still feel bad. But I'm sure he does fine, because he was a smooth salesman. Not that it took much to get me, because I'm a ginormous sucker.

Funny baby...

We thought he'd take this off his face eventually, but he left it on for several minutes. Weirdo child of ours.

Tummy time with Dad

Baby mid-roll

Sweater or turban...you decide

Naked...yet so cool and sophisticated.

Warren and Dad

My favorite boys hanging out earlier today.

Balloon, anyone?

Guess we should invest in a few helium balloons every once in a while. The fact that he's still laughing after the camera came out lets us know how much he was really enjoying himself. :)

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Please excuse our loud baby in the background. But I thought this was too funny to not share with everyone. Let's hope Warren turns out to be as big of a ham as our buddy Rowan!

Minnesota

We went to Minnesota to see Evan get his Eagle Scout award. (Sorry, we didn't take any pictures of that because we're lame...call Conner cause he took some while Doug and Emily were up with Evan getting the award) 4 boys make for an exciting weekend. And Aunt Leslie and Uncle Neil were there, too. We had a great time seeing everyone! We hadn't been since Thanksgiving when Warren was 3 weeks old. We took a picture with Rowan to have a point of reference to how big he's gotten. Crazy!

Mitt Romney comes to town!

I wanted him to kiss our baby...but Warren fell asleep. Maybe we can get Obama to do it!

Mitt came to Coralville yesterday and we went to go see him. It's fun to be in Iowa and have so many of the presidential candidates (all of them, actually) come to town so frequently. I'm not saying we're huge Mitt fans (not yet anyways...we have some homework to do), but we had fun going. The paper even interviewed me! They asked what I thought about his presentation. I linked the article below. I'm basically famous all over Iowa City, now! :) If we go to any more campaign stops, we'll let you know!

Screaming Warren

Again, I took this from afar so he wouldn't get camera shy. He's been into yelling a bunch lately, which can be quite entertaining. Here it sounds more like whining, but he's in a good mood.

sitting up!

Check me out! As long as I don't have distractions to the right or left of me, I can sit up on my own.

gnawing

No matter what it is, Warren tries to eat it. He isn't cutting teeth quite yet, but he loves to gnaw on anything he gets his hands on.

gross...

We call this one: sweet potato and oatmeal goatee.

Spring? What Spring?

So we've had snow the last couple days. And it's April and we think that's really dumb. It hasn't stuck around for more than a few hours, but it's dang cold. And I have to scrape my car in the morning which is rather annoying. But it means we can bust out the fuzzy hats again. He looked particularly cute in this one.

Easter

Warren goes to Los Portales

We met up with some of my work buddies for Warren's first Mexican Restaurant experience.

With Chef JeffHis new girlfriend, Iulia.

Warren's biggest fan, Julie. He loves her :)

And our buddy Frank - the teacher who looks like Rob Coudry.

Kim comes to town...

Kim, my friend from back home was kind enough to come rough it out in Iowa for a few days. Together we rearranged the living room, so when Cowboy starts scooting around he won't get into trouble. We also hit the outlets for a little shopping, saw the Amish in their buggies and gave Kim the GRAND tour of Iowa City. It was fun having her!

*Note the excellent use of the timer on the camera :)

Warren's new toy

We're still a little small for this thing, but so far it's a big hit. Hopefully he'll let mom get a few things done if he can occupy himself for a little bit at a time!

Dancing Warren

He gets a little stressed out at the end. But generally he enjoys the bouncing about.
