Welcome Cousin Chloe!

Chloe Savanna Dix was born at 7:53am Tuesday, August 26th weighing in at 6lbs 11oz and 19 inches long

We went yesterday to visit Natalie, Wray, and brand new baby Chloe in the hospital. She is AWESOME! She slept most of the time with a couple breaks here and there to scream - and that girl has quite the lungs. :) We couldn't be happier for the new parents. And it's the first time Tay and I have had the honor of being called "Aunt and Uncle". Warren was pumped up to see his new cousin all day, but when we got there he decided to hate her guts - especially whenever momma Steph would hold her. We're going to have to work on this jealousy thing, or we'll never be able to have another baby.

Proud Papa!

It almost looks like he likes her here...don't be fooled.

He'll come around. By the end he didn't seem to mind her too much.

This is W saying "HOME!"
We've been coaching him to say he LOVES the new baby. We've said a few prayers, too. Can't hurt!

Boring or Too Much Fun?

I'll let you decide. Seems like there hasn't been too much going on lately, but we've had Taylor home everyday, so I can't say it's been dull. We're not looking forward to September 2nd when he leaves us forever for the mistress we call "work".

Our first houseguests, The Knolls, came to spend the night on the way to Cache Valley, UT for a family reuinion. They are now officially cooler than all our other Iowa friends. Thanks for a fun day!

We finally got the last of the furniture we ordered 6 weeks ago, and our house is lookin dang cute if I say so myself. I'd post pictures, but I think that's weird. Just trust me, k?

We officially become Coloradans with our snazzy new license plates and new drivers license for me. We also registered to vote. Exciting, I know.

W and I went to Elitch Gardens today with some new buddies from the ward. Season pass holders got us in for $10 and we had a blast. W is always hit or miss with the pool, sprinklers, etc. But he was loving it. He managed to get out without a sunburn and crashed when we got home. I, on the other hand, got roasted. And yeah, I had sunblock on, too. Whatever cruel world! I had one of my Sunbeams ask me on Sunday why I had so many dots on my arms. I don't know, kid. Heavenly Father wanted to keep me humble, I guess. Luckily we won't be here on Sunday for him to ask my why I'm so pink.

And the highlight of the summer is coming up - 5 days without the kid! I'll probably end up like other weenie moms and miss him like crazy, but right now I'm just pumped to spend time with Taylor (and our good buddies Ashley and Dallas) without him. We're dropping him off at my parents in Tacoma, WA and then heading up to Victoria, BC and then to Seattle. We've got kayaking, camping, parasailing, and yummy food waiting for us. Not to mention we get to say "ay" while we're there. It's gonna be good times. And then we'll come back to my parents and hang out with the WHOLE family. Hooray.

Warren and his sweet tie that he likes to wear EVERY day. (Our child is sooo GQ)

The Knolls and us!

Warren watching "Cars" at a Rockies game with Dan and Rachel. (Why didn't we think about that last time?)

Dove, anyone?

So I have this pregnant sister in law who has been slightly picky about her cravings and what she wants to eat. Yesterday she confessed to being into Dove right now. Yum...chocolate sounds good, right?

Except she likes Dove SOAP. In her own words - "I just don't know what it is, but it's heaven to me. I just like to lick it when I'm in the shower."

We love her dearly, but we also think she might need some psychiatric help. :)

Runner

Warren likes to run - just like his Daddy -- but he adds his own flare: announcing what he's doing every 3 seconds ("run...run....run........run...run"). He also enjoys running away in public places, like today when he escaped after church down the hall into the other ward's Relief Society meeting. And got to the piano and started playing before I grabbed him and the whole room started laughing. Which only fed his ginormous ego and he laughed his head off all the way to the car. I was thinking about punishing him, but it really was pretty funny, so I just laughed too.

Go Colorado!

Living anywhere else will make you fat...or something like that. Guess you'd better all move here. So says The Economist (Taylor's source for all truth and knowledge).

Adulthood...We can almost taste it!

Taylor finished the bar exam this week! Wahoo! He felt pretty good about it when he was done, so we're crossing our fingers he never has to think about it ever again. He actually got pretty sick on the second day of the test, but he didn't think it impeded him much, so we got lucky there.

This picture is when we came to eat lunch with Daddy Tay Tay in between exam sessions on tuesday. It is so dang hot here right now, we can barely stand it. You can tell both of my boys look pretty hot and sticky in this photo.

WE LOVE YOU, TAYLOR! WAY TO GO! YOU'RE THE BEST!

Now we're enjoying a whole month of nothing to do and no place to go. We're going to squeeze as much fun in as possible before Dad has to leave us for the next 40 years. Wish us luck!
