Since We've Been Home

He loves the toys Grandma and Grandpa gave him. In the tub, or in a bucket...it's a good time.

Don't you just love that little bum?? This is him "swimming" with his new toys.

He can't quit reach the hoop. But with help from his stool, he gets close enough to almost dunk.

And with Christmas being over, and the new year begun...it's the perfect time to wear our Santa hat. All. Day. Long.

Christmas Rewind

Warren helps everyone unwrap their presents. Before he even knows what it is he shouts "COOOOOOL present" just about every time.

In case anyone was wondering what Scotty's head looks like these days. If you've got to have cancer, you might as well have an awesome shaped head.

It snowed in Washington - a lot! We drove my parents' sweet 1990 Jeep Cherokee around town since it was the only thing with 4 wheel drive. They don't do snow plows up there, so the roads were pretty bad for a few days. Warren did what he could to help out.

Notice his sweet Tacoma Police beanie my dad brought home for him. Warren calls him "Grandpa Policecar"

W loves McKenna. She's one of the few girls Warren is allowed to marry. They'd have cute red-haired babies!

Striking a pose in his sweet Christmas jammies. This was on Christmas Eve. He got to open a couple presents and the rest had to wait until Grandpa got home from work on Christmas Day - 3 PM. That's why we look kinda normal in those pictures above.

Gingerbread Houses

So Taylor and I got our creative juices flowing and made gingerbread houses the other night with some friends (see, mom - we have friends!). It was fun, and our house didn't turn out half bad. Warren has only eaten a few things off of it. I'm surprised our llama still lives, to be honest. I thought for sure she'd be the first to go. She is pretzel and gumdrop, after all - Warren's favs. Hopefully Tina can remain with us until after Christmas.
On a side note, I'm definitely looking pregnant these days. In my baby belly, yes. But also in my growing baby feeders. I feel ridiculous and wonder how people walk around with these things all the time. Oh well.

Christmas Lights!

Thanks, Denver residents, for entertaining us tonight. We ran across houses that were right across the street from each other and down a few houses from each other and wondered whether their little (I mean ginormous) light displays were friendly or evil competition. We don't care as long as they keep doing it!

PICK A NAME!

We're having some serious baby-naming issues! I put a poll on the side of my blog to get some feedback. We're not settled on any of these names, but here are the 6 we like today. Hook us up by voting, cause we're lost.

Claire, Olivia, Caroline, Rebekah, Jane, Sophia

Christmas is coming...

We put Christmas lights on the house! Not bad for our first attempt ever. Warren loves the "Christmas Tree". And I love the fresh blanket of snow we got last night. And I also love that so far this year, one day we'll have snow and the next it'll be 55 degrees and it'll all melt. Eat that, Iowa!

I was feeling sorry for myself because I didn't get Thanksgiving leftovers. So I found a bird on sale at the supermarket and took matters into my own hands - recreating Thanksgiving last night. Doesn't this turkey just scream "EAT ME!"? We did. It was yum and I have turkey sandwiches for the rest of the week. Wahoo!

In Warren news - he's giving up his naps. Awesome.

Yummmmmmmmmmmmy Muffins!

I set out to find a muffin recipe for Warren and I to eat for breakfast tomorrow morning. And I found THIS RECIPE - for the most delicious "Morning Glory" muffin from allrecipes.com. It had a bunch of great reviews, and I added mine tonight. I could seriously eat 12 of these. Warren calls them "little cakes" (I used the mini muffin pan for some) and kept sneaking them. I'll even call them healthy 'cause they have carrots, raisins, and apples in there. So maybe I will eat 12 of them. Go make them, you won't be sorry.

WHY?!

...does a 10 minute snooze in the car replace a 2 hour nap!?
...is my child sitting behind me on this little chair pulling my pony tail from side to side and laughing about it?
...does he make me smile even though I just walked in on him causing all sorts of destruction?

This is why nothing ever gets done around here. So if you come over and my house is a wreck - don't judge me.

Personal Chef

We had manicotti for dinner last week, and Warren was very helpful during the prep. He stirred up all the cheese and eggs for me. He tried to eat some, but knowing that would induce vomiting on contact because of my sweet child's gag reflex (not to mention that the mixture is disgusting before cooking) I kept him away. He also helped me make chocolate chip cookies last week, but that "help" involved more picking out the chocolate chips and eating them than anything.

Snow is Pretty Fun
