I Sorta Have a Life

I do have hobbies other than finding little kids on youtube saying crude (yet cute!) things. Here is a picture of our fridge where we teach W all the names of his grandmas, grandpas, aunts, and uncles (and Jesus is in there, too) And W thought the word "whoops" was all-too funny. Who knew I didn't have to try so hard to get a laugh out of someone.

Oh, and I also sucked helium out of a balloon and made voices while W was in the tub. That, too, was funny to him.

And one last thing that's pretty funny - stuff white people like
A website/blog dedicated to stuff white people like. I never knew how stereotypical I was! This website is seriously funny.

Kicked Where??

Thanks, Jocelyn :)

Walmart Cake Part 2

So to clarify (some were confused), I'm guessing the person ordering over the phone said-
I'd like my cake to say "Best Wishes Suzanne", and underneath that, "We Will Miss you". But sadly, the Walmart cake decorator takes directions word-for-mispelled-word.

Walmart Cake

My mom sent this to me and I thought it was pretty funny. Better fax in your order to Walmart next time!

Bargain!!

So I went online today to renew a magazine subscription that had expired. But I didn't know the website off the top of my head, so I googled it. A bunch of things pop up, including an eBay listing. I didn't know you could buy subscriptions on eBay (maybe I'm totally behind the times), so I checked it out. HOLY CRAP. Don't buy another magazine without getting it here. I guess I'll hold my breath until it actually comes, but there are a zillion stores that sell them for dirt cheap. 3 year subscriptions for $7?? Seriously, it looks awesome. Here's a store that I bought mine from (Parenting - $1 for a year and $3 shipping), and will probably buy more. Magazines are usually kinda pricey and I don't even bother - but these are good deals, my friends!

Valentines Day

We spent Valentines Day at home this year. Tay and I decided that we would save $ by not eating out this month (which is pretty hard, but it is the shortest month of the year...) without remembering about Valentines Day until we were ready to make reservations somewhere. So instead of pouting about it, I decided I would make a nice dinner, ship Warren off to a friends (we watched their kids tonight in a wonderful trade agreement) and invite another couple over to eat our food.

For dinner I made bread and a spinach salad in a parmesan frico cups to start, and we ate pork tenderloin, green beans, and cream cheese stuffed new potatoes for our main course. It looked really pretty and everything tasted great - I was happy about how they turned out. I totally should have taken a picture to make all my work last longer. Thanks, Food Network! We also drank Martinelli's because you have to with any holiday dinner. Fun night!

Nice choice, Tay! He even went to a florist - NOT the grocery store. He knows his stuff!

I made these cute cards at an enrichment activity (Go Enrichment!!) But thought they were too girly for Taylor. So I think I'll give them to the girls I visit teach (which one do you want, Sunny?)

Warren's present - he loves balloons.
So funny story: I bought this guy at Walmart on the 12th. And walking outside in the below zero freezing cold, the tape that's holding him (well not this one - it was his brother) comes off the balloon! So I'm RUNNING through the icy parking lot trying to catch it, and another guy tries to help me, but it eventually gets picked up by the wind and sails away. It's probably killing a baby seal somewhere in the Pacific by now. I was so sad. So I start to drive away when I think "It's not MY fault stupid Walmart didn't tie the string, knowing how cold it is outside. That thing cost me almost $5!" So going against my nature (I hate complaining,I think it's tacky and embarrassing), I go in to customer service at 10PM and wait in line behind some ca-rAZ-y Walmart customer - you know the type - to nicely request another balloon. And they gave me one and I was happy. :)

And Tay got iTunes bucks

Homeless??

Look who we picked up off the street. After a haircut and a bath, he doesn't look too rough.

Snow Day!!

Taylor's classes were canceled, and we weren't feeling adventurous enough to go out (except on to our little deck) It was a good day, though.
A little bit of Curious George to break up the afternoon

Taking out some garbage- stinky diapers go out in all weather!

Watching our heroes work - the bobcat drivers!!

"trashas" aka Tractors!

Hey, Quasimodo!

Dix Family Snowman!
Warren only knocked it down 3 times before I could finish by distracting him with raisins - his fav.

Shoe Fetish

I guess this means I need some new shoes, so he can play with all these old ones :)
He seriously can't get enough of them. We have to put them away in our closets quickly, or he'll be after us to help him put them on and walk around.

He's making a fashion statement with 2 different shoes

President Gordon B. Hinckley

When I heard about President Hinckley's passing, I wasn't terribly surprised or upset. He was 97 years old, and we all knew there would come a day when he wouldn't be here. But after his funeral, and thinking about his life over the last few days, I've realized how much I'm going to miss him. I have so many reasons for loving this man, for trying to emulate the kind of life he lead, and for incorporating his advice and council into my daily life. But what I loved most was his quiet optimism and enthusiasm for individual members and the church as a whole. I was lucky enough to hear him speak on several occasions, and he was always inspiring and encouraging us to do a little bit better. I definitely feel I have taken him for granted and have a new resolve to implement the lessons he taught.

At this tender time, I wish to share with anyone reading my testimony. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and is concerned with my day-to-day life and activities. I know He sent His Son to teach us and to die for us that we may return to live with them again. I know that He talks to us today, both individually through the promptings of the Holy Ghost, and through His chosen leaders who lead and guide us. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and know that my life is much more meaningful and happy because I have these basic truths to rely on. Everyday I wish to become a better person, and President Hinckley has taught me much about how to achieve this goal. I will miss him, but look forward to the new leaders who will follow in his place.

Wahoo!

I no longer work! for illsHAY ankBAY (I don't want to pop up on the marketing department's internet alert thing - yeah, that happened once. oops) and I'm SOOO excited to be staying at home with this guy:

I've put off my new years resolutions until today - the beginning of the first full week I don't have to go back to that PLACE. And here they are (in random order): Read one book every month, exercise 2x a week, read my church lessons before Sunday, really clean one room in the house every day - I have a chart, lose the pile of clothes I perpetually have on my bedroom floor, learn how to use my camera (I figured out the black/white/color thing - impressed??), and stop wasting so much $ at the grocery store. I think thats it. I only worked 20 hours a week, but not having to go anymore is quite freeing. I feel like I can do whatever I want all the time, and me gusta. What crazy moms out there love going to work so much they leave these babies with strangers all day? I can't stand to be away from W, I just want to eat him up.
