The verdict is in...

Ring Voodoo wins! We're having a little girl. We have no idea what we'll do with her. Hope she likes dinosaurs and trucks. We're really excited. Thanks for all the texts/emails yesterday! Sorry to keep you in suspense!

A sampling of our cool new family photos. In no particular order...

Here's our photographer's blog (she's good AND cheap!) if you live around Denver.

What's new with Warren?

He brings out his blankets to wherever we are, lays down, and asks "scratch you"? This kid loves loves loves getting his back and head scratched.

He got a new rug for his room (75% off at Target...and it's cute. Go me!)

He takes baths with his clothes still on.

Baby Voodoo

On Friday we find out if we're having a boy or a girl! Some in my circle of friends say I should already know based on one of two methods - chinese calendar or the hanging ring predictor. The ring thing is crazy, which makes me think it'll be the one to be correct. You hang your wedding ring over your wrist by a hair from your head and it'll tell you the order of your children. Back and forth swinging (like a pendulum) means boy, and circular motions means girl. There's a pause in between each one. Whether it works or not, it's creepy cool.

Ring thing says boy first (correct, that's Warren), girl for #2, followed by 2 more boys. (It actually keeps going, but I can't imagine anymore than 4 kids, so I quit looking)

The Chinese thing also said boy for Warren, but it's a bit tricky this time because I conceived in July (my birthday month) so I was very close to having a girl, but they're all telling me boy.

Which one will prove true? Stay tuned and find out on Friday!

Humble Beginnings

We had Stake Conference this weekend at church. And I felt a lot of the talks touched on being prepared in one way or another. Talking with Taylor, we decided we have 3 areas where we need to work on getting prepared. One, getting a money reserve in case Tay lost his job, or some other financial crisis comes up (I guess we won't be getting that car as soon as we thought). Two, preparing spiritually in case some tragedy arises and we need to rely more heavily on our relationship with Christ (got to be better about family prayers and scripture study). And Three, getting our food storage in case of natural or financial disaster (we'll still need to eat!).

Here's the beginning of my food storage efforts:

We've got a long way to go, but it's a start.

(Sidenote to all Denverites: Albertson's generic cereal is on sale for $1. Yeah, there's 16 boxes in this picture.)

Tornado

This mess occurred while I was doing my hair and make up this morning. The picture actually doesn't look so bad. But ALL his trains, cars, bean bags, library books, and stuffed animals were strewn about. Guess he couldn't decide what he wanted to play with.

Playing with cars on the "little table". I love it when he lays on the ground and plays with his cars and trains. Never caught him up here before, though. New thrill.

Taylor says he gets his tornado genes from me. It's true. Though I've mellowed considerably.

LEAVES!

Tense Moments

Why do the Cougars do this to us?! We went to the CSU/BYU game totally expecting to embarrass them. It was back and forth the whole time, and being the fair-weather fan that I am, I was getting really annoyed. Luckily we pulled it off, and my day wasn't ruined. Although I left with a headache after all the yelling, cheering, booing, etc. Dan and Rachel (she went to CSU) came with us, so it was fun to have such a close game. And they were brave enough to sit with us in the midst of true blue BYU fans. Great night!
