What I'm Workin' With...

Anyone else go get their Grand Slam Today?? :)

Cami: Just caught her in the garbage eating an apple core that was covered in vacuum dust goop. It was everything I could do to not vomit on the spot. Sick! I walked over and said "Camille!" and she promptly dropped the core and started crying. She knew how busted she was. Here she is eating a much more appropriate cracker. She's happy almost all the time. And she makes friends wherever we go. Particularly old people. They love baby red hair. Warren: This picture - what in the what?? That face...he's weird. He spontaneously tells me he loves me. (heaven!) Today I replied with the standard "I love you too" and he exclaims "oh mom, I love it when you say I love you too!". He's a sensitive little soul. On one hand it's awesome - cuddles and love much the time. Our favorite is the hug robot. One of us becomes the hug robot and we chase eachother around with robot walk and talk, demanding hugs. On the flip side, he cries and pouts when things don't go his way. Beyond annoying. Or if I yell at him (always with good reason, I assure you), he puts on this sad little face - "mom, it makes me so sad when you yell at me". Then listen to me, little dude. Problem avoided. But he's learning to say "Sure, mom" because I gush over the fact that he listened and complied happily. Sometimes he'll even pick out his own tasks to perform - "mom, tell me to put my boots in the closet" "Warren, put your boots in the closet." "Sure mom!" pauses and waits for the praise...."THANK YOU WARREN! You're the best kid in the universe, you make me so happy, bla bla bla" Then he smiles and takes care of business. What a guy! He's also very good to his sister 99% of the time. Check the video of him making her laugh. Nothing better.

Good day to be a mom. Even though it's snowy and cold, the sun is shining and that helps (thanks Denver!) Candyland awaits...gotta get to it.

Oh, and if you're wondering what the heck that ugly thing is in the corner of the video - it's my new project. $12 for this solid desk. It is currently a hideous shade of chipping blue paint, but it won't always be so. We'll put it in Warren's room when it's all prettied up. I think I'll wait until we move/have a garage to tackle it. And speaking of moving, you might be interested to know that we put an offer in on a short sale home back in December. Didn't want to get our hopes up because short sales take forever, and we've still been looking at other places. Not a done deal yet, but things are looking good. I want my $8k tax credit, so we'll almost definitely be moving sometime this spring. Not too far - about 10-15 minutes away. But we're excited!

Food!

Have you guys heard of restaurant.com? So they sell gift certificates to restaurants at a big discount. The norm is a $25 certificate for $10. And there's usually a minimum purchase - $35-$50 in order to use it. All in all, a good deal. But even better, they have sales all the time, and right now it's 80% off. So $2 for a $25 certificate. I don't recognize all of the places on there, but there's over 100 within a 15 mile radius of us. We really like Wash Park Grille, BD's Mongolian BBQ, El Senor Sol, Altitude, and others. And it's been fun to try new places knowing we'll only drop $12 ($2 on the cert and $10 there) on a $35 meal. We've loved it. You all know how cheap we are. So now we can eat at nicer places than usual. (And my mom in Seattle and brother in SLC have found cool places by them, so check it)
Anyways, the 80% off code is "HEART" if you're interested. This one ends on the 14th. But they'll go on sale again. They always do. Happy eating.

Yelling is the New Smiling

Just some cute pictures of my kids being silly. I tried all week to come up with something clever or witty to say...and I got nothing. We're all doing ok over here and had a regular good week. Right now Cami's sitting in my lap while I type (no easy task, I'll have you know), and Warren is checking my heart, giving me a shot, looking in my ears - all with his doctor kit. I wonder if it makes Taylor sad that there are no little kids out there playing "lawyer". Oh well, probably for the best. On to pictures!

Cami is a wiggly maniac. Especially when she gets on a soft cushy surface like a bed or the couch. She flails all over doing Shamu-like body dives out of our arms and laughs like crazy each time she almost dies.

She's sneaky. I told you she loves the bathroom. The other day I turned around and could not find her. I could hear her somewhere, but was nowhere to be found. I finally opened the shower curtain to find this little monster. She prefers opening her mouth as wide as possible and grunting these days rather than smiling and making sweet girly sounds.

Again - no smile. (On her way to the bath, hence grossies around her mouth)

W wants in on the silly face action

Note the attempt to control her hair. She rips out her clippies non stop, so I tried the Deb look.

Look! No hands!

Passing the time with youtube videos. Our favs are here and here and here. We find some pretty funny things. You should hear him sing the Peanut Butter Jelly song. I'll try to get that documented one day.

And in closing...undies on the head. Classic.

Here's hoping your week was as good as ours. But perhaps a little more eventful.

Anyone else have these in their bathrooms?

Wads of toilet paper carefully re-rolled. Because of this little monster:

Although, here, she's lovingly shredded a lot of it. The bathroom is her FAVORITE place in the whole house. I have a sinking suspicion that only because she knows she's not allowed in there. You leave that door open for a minute and she's there. Toilets, trash bin, rolls of toilet paper...heaven, apparently. Can you not see the joy on her face? (ps - her poor hair)

Stitches

Scoreboard
Avocado - 1
Stephanie - 0

The avocado decided it couldn't bear to part with it's giant pit, so it pushed the knife away causing me to stab myself in my palm. Stupid green fruit. I didn't think it was that bad until it wouldn't stop bleeding, and I could see all the fatty tissue inside. Didn't think that was a good sign. I called Taylor to come home while I finished cooking dinner. I held a cloth over the laceration (such a CSI thing to say...) with my free fingers. I ate, Taylor walked in, I went to urgent care, two stitches and an Us Weekly later, I was done. It'll probably cost me $800, but it's something that would have been difficult to heal up on it's own. So I can't complain.

In other news, my baby is getting WAY too big. Stop it, little girl! Stop growing!

Pardon the peaches on my shirt. They were yummy, though.

Don't you love my cute little bum? I made this mess all on my own. I even pulled off folded laundry from the couch. I'm getting very good at this.

Playing peekaboo with Mom. Favorite game, hands down.

Best.Date.Ever.

Last night Taylor and I got to be part of a focus group for Red Robin. What does that mean, you ask? Well, my friends, it means we got to taste test seven (count them - SEVEN) Red Robin burgers/sandwiches and tell this nice lady sitting at our table what we think about them. And it appears they're looking for a new bacon burger, because 6 of the 7 had bacon on them. Delicious applewood-smoked bacon. IT WAS AWESOME!

My love for the Robin is no secret. I love that place. So I was pumped when the lady called and told us we'd been selected. And the best part - we each got $25 gift cards. Although after eating almost 2 full burgers, and like 10 pieces of bacon, I think It'll be a little while before we go back. I could have thrown up on the way home (and it probably would have benefited me to do so) because I was so full.

So if the Cobb Chicken Burger or the Big Bold Bacon Burger end up on a RR menu - you're welcome. And if you're one of those people who supposedly hates this place, I question whether or not to talk to you anymore. Because you're crazy. (T&J!!)

Slim Fast all day for me. Totally worth it.

Behold the Whisky River BBQ Burger. The only one we tried that's already on the menu.

Hide&Seek - Warren Style

We call this game "Boo!". And I'm very adept at hiding around corners or sneaking up on Warren and getting him good. But while Tay's at work, I have Cami. Little bug always gives me away. video video
(Pardon the toys aaaalllll over the floor. It's how we roll)
