Fridays...

Amen for Fridays. Because if there were one more day before the weekend, I might go crazy. Let me elaborate on how my day went...This little peanut decided life was miserable unless she was being held and/or fed. Homegirl didn't take a nap until almost 3. It's hard to ignore her crying; as if I'm betraying her in some hideous way if she can see me and I'm not in her face giving her 100% attention. And I'm pretty sure I'm becoming immune to the smell of baby barf. I'm covered head to toe most days. Once this little phase of hers passes, I'm investing in all-new dish towels.

Doesn't he just look ornery? He was a virtual tornado today. Every one of his million cars, toy soldiers, books, and whatever else he could get his hands on came out and were scattered all over. I could barely walk from room to room without killing myself. And he was so mean to his little friend today - yoinking toys and pushing. Then he'd scream bloody murder when I'd follow through on my time-out or ear-pull threats. I put him in his room and it sounded like a caged wild animal with all the yelling and banging. And why is it when me and my child are both on each other's last nerve that he feels the need to cling to my leg and follow me around the house whining and asking the same question 1000 times even though I've said "no" 999 times? Don't you want a break from me? I'm just being sassy to you and putting you in time out; you'd think you'd want to steer clear from the wicked witch. But if I'm vacuuming, he needs to vacuum. If I sit down at the computer, he needs to type. If I just threw the rest of his lunch away because he wouldn't eat it, he's famished.
New phrases I loathe: "But it's MINE" "I was JUST ABOUT to play with that" " But I NEED it"

Again, AMEN for Fridays and the weekend in sight...

Amen to that sista. The other day I wanted to put my kids on craigslist! When I heard the garage door opening at 5:27...I literally broke into tears and told Greg I was quitting for the day. Then I went to bed at 7:00. Amen to Fridays!!!!

It's such a blessing that every day has an end, huh? They're always cuter the next morning, after a bit of a break :) Hope this weekend was a good break!

I think all moms have days like that. It isn't that your kids are worse than others or that you are a worse parent for thinking those things - you are just a mom with two kids! I've been ready to sell McKenna lately with her screaming phase too! By the way, the picture of Warren with his tongue out is really cute! - I am sure it wasn't cute to you at the time.

Ahhh, the priceless gift of motherhood. I love your honest account--I can relate!! Sometimes I need some space (and a break from hearing "Mom look at ME!!"). The pics are great--love those adorable Dix kids!
